This module is designed to help you understand certain teachings about yourself. Before we move forward, take a look at the images below. Ask help from your parents to find out and better understand what the two children are talking about.

What can you say about this?

Have you ever wondered what you should say when you introduce yourself to others? It is important that you know the basic information about yourself. You must remember this information so you will be able to introduce yourself properly.

This objectives of this lesson are:

1. To be able to introduce yourself using the following information: name, name of parents, date of birth, age, place of residence, and school.

2.To learn to write these information and

3. Say special traits about yourself.

Let's Study

The basic information about yourself is especially important when you need to introduce yourself to new acquaintances, classmates, friends or playmates.

We must not forget this information especially when the opportunity arises. 

Every Filipino child has different physical characteristics. The way he looks or his facial features. 

Look at Anna's experience during her first day of class as seen below. Follow her and find out how she introduces herself in frontnof her classmates.

Anna introduced herself using her basic or primary information such as her name, age, place of residence, her parents' names and some of her physical attributes.

When you introduce yourself, it is important to say your full name, your age, your date of birth, and your place of residence.

Don't forget to mention your parents' names, the name of your school and the place where you live.

Look how Bebe and Boboy introduce themselves to each other.

BEBE: I am Bebe Reyes. My Papa's name is Cardo Reyes.

BOBOY: I am Boboy Cruz. My Mama's name is Aryana Cruz.

BEBE: My birthday is near.

BOBOY: When is your birthday?

BEBE: I wan born on June 1, 2014.

BOBOY: Then you must be 6 years old.

BEBE: Where do you go to school?

BOBOY: I go to school at Bunawan Elementary School.

BEBE: Where is that near?

BOBOY: Bunawan, Davao City.

Bebe and Boboy were able to introduce themselves properly using their basic information. It is important to remember this information especially when we meet new people or friends.

In addition to this information about ourselves, our physical attributes can also be used to introduce ourselves to others.

Every Filipino child has a variety of physical traits to be proud of.

Sometimes there is a Filipino child with curly hair and the right nose length, sometimes you may also meet a Filipino child with narrow eyes, a relatively long nose and a white complexion.
