Magtuon Kita (Let's Learn)

Ben and Maria are classmates. They are both in Grade 1 like you. One afternoon, after class, they went to the garden. And here they found something.

Maria: Uy! Look Ben! It's a beautiful butterfly. How did she become to be so beautiful?

Ben: Hala! Yes, it is so beautiful. I wonder what it looked like when it was young?

Answer the questions:

1. Who are the two kids in the story?

2. Where did their playing lead them?

3. What did they see in the garden?

The following pictures show the correct sequence of a butterfly metamorphosis that Maria and Ben saw.

First, they start as eggs attached on a leaf.

Second, the eggs hatch and out come caterpillars.

Third, then it becomes a beautiful butterfly ready to fly.

Its appearance is different then from now. There is a big change.

There are also many changes you yourself will experience, from birth to current age.

First, you are a baby still crawling.

Second, you are able to walk but, your movement is limited.

Third, you are now 6 years old. You go to school and their are many things you can do on your own.

This is true for people, animals, things or places around you. These changes have a correct order or sequence.

Look at the pictures below. The following pictures show the correct order of the changes you see in a chicken.

First, it will hatch from an egg it originated from.

Second, it is  now a chick.

Third, it will grow to become an adult chicken and lay eggs too.

On the otherhand, if we were to grow a plant...

First, you plant a seed.

Second, after a few days, small leaves will sprout.

Third, it will grow to be a big plant.
