My Own Family

Each of us has a family. In this module, we will learn the following:

1. Identify each member of the family.

2. Describe the beliefs and practices of one's own family.

3. Know/Learn the origin of father and mother.

4. Assign/Give responsibility and rights to each family member.

Activity 1: Identify them!

Look at the pictures. Write grandfather (lolo) grandmother (lola), father/ amahan, mother/ inahan, ate/manang, kuya/manong, youngest/manghod on the blank.

Let Us Learn (Magtuon Kita)

Each of us has a family. It can include grandfathers, grandmothers, fathers, mothers and children.

Each family has their own beliefs and practices. Each family has different origins as well.

Each member also has different household functions. This is the responsibility of each member of the family.

Every member has the right to be treated with respect and dignity.

The parents work to provide their children with the following needs like food, shelther, clothing and education. It is the responsibility of the parents to take care of the children.

Let us learn about the families of Dodong and Inday:

I am Dan Reyes. Dodong is my nickname. My father is Jose Reyes. Born in Cebu City. My mother is Maria Gomez. She is from Manila.

Now we live in Mintal, Davao City because ky Papa worls as a health worker here.

My mama takes care of me. She stays as home since she has a store.

My Papa and Mama need to work so that we have money for our daily expenses and in consideration of their responsibility to me as their child.

I help around the house since it is my responsibility as their child.

They also teach me to respect others and to help those in need.

Every Sunday, we go to mass at the Catholic Church.  After Mass, Papa and I play basketball.

I am Ara Santos. Inday is my nickname. My father is Lito Santos. Born in Davao City. My mother is Rosa Sanchez. Born is Surigao. I have a big brother (Kuya). His name is Mark Santos.

Now we live in Calinan, Davao City with my Lolo and Lola who are my Papa's parents. My papa is a teacher at a public school.

My mother works at a call center. My Papa and Mama work for our needs.

Lola and Lola are our companions at home when Mama and Papa are at work. Kuya and I are taught to do household chores. Kuya waters the plants and feed the chickens. I help Lola in the kitchen.

We are also taught to have good manners at all times and to respect each other. We go to church every Saturday.

Ana Guzman lives with her mama, Alma Gomez Guzman, in Tugbok, Davao City. She has a brother, Leo Guzman. Her papa is Mario Guzman who passed away.

With them lives their Lola, Gina Gomez who is the mama of her Mama.

Ana's mom works at a mall in the city.

They go to mass every Sunday at a Catholic Church.

Write Tama or Mali based on Ana's family.
